Upcoming events :
JAN 25-27 - Re-Enter The Blues (Atlanta, GA)
Building on the success of last year's kick-ass weekend, there's more classes
and top-notch DJs such as Tina Davis, Devona Cartier, Jeff Miller, and Heather
Adams. I'll be there, too :)

FEB 13-18 - Advanced Photon Source (Argonne Nat'l Lab, Chicago)
The Coloumb Hole and the Exchange Hole ought to be there, and Density
Functional Theory gets damn good results by making the a posteriori assumption
that electrons never get too close together. But no one has ever shown
this conclusively. This experiment will be looking for electron-electron
correlations. Not "evidence for". Not "data which implies".
The goal is a straight-up Pair Density Function between the electrons
themselves.
FEB 29- MAR 2 - Stompin' At The Swamp (Gainesville, FL)
A great event being put on by the Gainesville folks, this event traces the
history and development of jazz music and dancing. The classes start with
pre-1920's dance like Peabody and goes straight through Harlem Blues, Charleston
Lindy, and continues to include recent innovations in swing and jazz-related
dance. I'll be giving a audio- and video- lecture on the history of Jazz,
which will also start from before the 1920's and continue through to recent
innovators. A must for folks who love (or want to learn about) the whole
spectrum of Jazz.

MAR 9-15 - "March Meeting" of the American Physics Society (New Orleans, LA)
Days full of physics, night full of music. Really, not that different from
my life normally.
MAR 28-30 - Battle Of The Cities (Orlando, FL)
The original. Often imitated, never recreated. Teams from across the
Southeast will gather in Orlanddo to duke it out for bragging rights. Can
Big George step up and deliver once again, or will the Atlanta crown be passed
on to TinyBunch? Can Nashville lay the smack down on Tampa this year?
Only one way to find out...

Shorty George Productions is the name that I use (along with my friend and
partner, Abdel Presume,
www.abdelpresume.com) when organizing Swing dance events. If you see Shorty
George Productions, you know that event will be the shizzle.
