Pre-revival dance : Friday August 24, 10pm-4am

In the spirit of this event, the music will be focused on Blues, Soul, and Gospel, spun by some of the best DJs in the Southeast.  Why does the dance start at 10pm?  Because you're Lindy Hoppers and you're not going to show up until then anyway, so to hell with it, that's when the dance will start.  Then you can brag about how you were on time once.  If you can make it to town early, call up one of the locals and drop by their house just to say hi!

Location : Flynn Dance Center

Revival Day : Saturday August 25, 1pm-6pm

This will be a day celebrating our community.  Taking place at a park shelter, we'll have this time set aside for games, poetry, music, and conversation.  Everyone is encouraged to bring something to share with the community : bring your football, frisbee, or soccerball.  If you play an instrument, bring it.  Got a favorite book of poems?  Bring it.  We've got a few things planned to start the ball rolling, but on the whole the event will be fairly organic.  Oh, and dinner (not supper) is on us.

Food by Megan Adair (register NOW so that she knows how much food to cook!):

It all started with pound cake.  Megan's mother, a great cook in her own right, couldn't figure out how to make a pound cake without having it overflow the pan or become a brick.  Megan took that as a challenge and made a pound cake about once a week during her middle school years, before moving on to more challenging things like Baked Alaska and souffle.  She always loves to new discover foods and different methods of preparation. In addition to a decade of working in various restaurants, she's headed up KLX food preparation for 2 years.  One of her very favorite things is to cook lots of food for lots of people to get together and eat in a big jumble, so she's really excited to cook for Revival Day... especially since there's banana puddin' ... day-old banana puddin!

Menu :
Hoppin' John salad (vegan, but bacon on the side for the omnivores)
Coleslaw (vegan)
Banana pudding (contains milk and eggs)
Watermelon
Iced Tea (sweet and unsweet)
Charcoal will be fired up for those who would like to bring meat for grilling

Location : Tyson Park

Post-revival dance : Saturday August 25, 10pm-4am

Take some time to go home, shower, nap, relax, grab a bite to eat, and join everyone back at the dance.  Wow... you were on time TWICE?  In the same weekend?  CRAZY!

Location : Flynn Dance Center

Jazz brunch : Sunday August 26,11am-1pm

Join the crowd at the Downtown Grill and Brewery for Jazz Brunch.  Reasonable prices and a great trio makes for a good time.
